With the abundance of modern technology at our fingertips, handwritten letters are slowly disappearing. Imperfect Ink is all about being real. Handwriting is a slower process than typing, gives the writer time to think, and it’s more difficult to erase a thought. Altogether this creates an authentic experience that a computer-typed letter cannot. We understand you may only feel comfortable participating by writing a typed letter and that’s okay too!

Choose a person(s) to write to. What thoughts and feelings do you wish you could share with this person(s) but it is either not possible due to circumstance or you feel the risk is far too great to take in person due to embarrassment, fear, or rejection? This is your time to say whatever it is you need to say to them. Some possible themes surrounding your letter could be: true love, death, heartache, unrequited love, a secret admirer, regret, an explanation, a question, someone who hurt you, someone you hurt, apology, anger, fear, secret, dangerous person, sin, unforgettable person, someone who changed your life, humanity, gratitude, an so on. Keep all names in the letter anonymous.

Keep your letter 1 page maximum (front side only) and keep it legible please.

We invite you to submit as many letters as you wish.

We request everyone to upload a digital copy and highly encourage you to mail the original letter to us after you upload it. We have big plans for our permanent collection that you won’t want to miss out on.
