Dear Dad, I am sorry I wasn't a better son. I feel that I have let you down as a son. When I was young, all I wanted to do was spend time with you but as we grew apart I stopped wanting to be around you. I know I rebelled a lot and was always sneaking out. All I wanted to do was hang out with friends. The problem is I had terrible judgment and chose to spend my time with the wrong people. This led me down a terrible path and I soon threw away my future for some temporary thrills and pleasure. I know you are disappointed with how I turned out and where I ended up but I wanted you to know that there is still time for me to be the son you wanted me to be. I know some relationships are broken beyond repair but if there is anything I could do to show you I have not given up on our relationship I would gladly do it.
