Dear Friend, I've wanted to tell you this forever but I never really could muster the courage to say this to you in person... I've had a crush on you since middle school. I didn't think that I was your type, and I was really shy back then, so I just kept it to myself. I didn't want to risk the possible embarrassment or rejection I would face if you told me you weren't interested in me. As you remember, I was very nerdy, and you were one of the popular kids. Since we lived completely different lives, I never even expected for you to be my friend, let alone my boyfriend. However, I immediately realized how nice you were when we started working together in our homeroom class. Our friendship, along with my secret crush, made me so excited to come to school. I would always try very hard not to blush when I saw you. We've been friends for almost 20 years, and I still have the same feelings for you. Even though I'm a lot more confident now, I still get nervous when I'm around it. I can't believe you still have that effect on me! We don't see each other often, so I often have to mentally prepare for the moment when we meet again.
