Dear Friend, I've always wanted to discuss this with you but I've never felt it was the right time. With you being black and me being white I want to discuss the racism in our community. We live in a very segregated and low key racist community and I want to know your thoughts. Kids would make jokes and use the n-word around you and I want to know your feelings on the matter. I regret being a bystander and not stepping up and fighting this behavior. I will try to be better in the future especially with all the racial tension that is going on right now. I want to be an ally, not another white moderate who is ok with the status quo. I want to fight for you and the others who are marginalized. I hope we can discuss this in person later this year and can figure out our futures. Mad Love, Your Friend
