“To My Best Friend, I am sorry for what I am about to tell you. That knife that went missing …”
To My Best Friend, I am sorry for what I am about to tell you. That knife that went missing when we were teenagers? I was the person who took it. At the time I thought it was just a cheap knife and when I heard you say it was your Grandad's knife I felt really bad. I should have owned up to what I had done but was embarrassed at the time. You and your brother were my only friends and I did not want to lose you. For that, I apologize. Stealing was a problem that I dealt with as a teenager and young adult. As kids, we didn't have much money, and this led me to steal so that I could have the toys and things I wanted as a kid. This progressed to stealing from people and taking the objects that I wanted. I have lost other friends to this and have really tried to change this about myself over the past few years. I hope that you can forgive me and see that I have changed as a person and that I did these things in the past and as a different person. Thanks for reading this. An old friend, Your Best Friend.
